People Advisor
Are you an experienced HR professional who thrives in a fast-paced, hands-on environment? We’re looking for a confident and proactive People Advisor to join our People Team and provide dedicated support across designated business units.
This is a generalist role where you’ll balance operational delivery with a focus on creating a great employee experience. You’ll manage your own employee relations and HR casework, while partnering with a dedicated People Partner on more complex matters and people projects.
What you'll be doing:
As the first line of People support for your designated business units you will:
- Build strong relationships with managers and team leads, understanding their operational needs and offering pragmatic people solutions that align with business goals.
- Advise on policies, procedures, and people processes to ensure consistency and compliance.
- Own and manage a range of ER cases (sickness absence, performance, probation, disciplinary, grievance, etc.), ensuring accurate documentation and timely resolution.
- Draft correspondence and meeting notes, ensuring compliance with internal policy and UK employment law.
- Partner with the People Partner on complex or high-risk cases when needed.
- Manage core HR processes (excluding onboarding/vetting).
- Maintain accurate records within the HRIS.
Collaboration & Projects:
- Work closely with the People Coordinator to ensure contracts and HR letters are issued accurately and on time.
- Partner with the Onboarding Team to ensure smooth handovers at offer stage and beyond.
- Support wider people projects such as process improvements, policy updates, and manager training.
- Identify trends or process bottlenecks within your business unit and propose practical improvements.
What you’ll bring
Essential:
- Proven experience in a generalist HR / People Operations role, ideally within a fast-paced or matrixed organisation.
- Confident managing HR casework independently, with solid knowledge of UK employment law.
- Excellent organisation and attention to detail.
- Discretion, integrity, and strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build trust at all levels.
Desirable:
- Experience using HRIS systems (Cascade preferred).
- CIPD Level 5 (or working towards).
